RE CAP ON OUR EXPERIENCE
We had such an awesome time. We were one of 30,000 applicants that were chosen to join 500 humans on a weekend in Canberra in October 2012. We did not know what to expect, and were blown away by what Canberra has to offer.
My husband and I had been to Canberra when we were young, it has changed. Canberra now is hip and a happening City. If you are a family it is THE place to go, there is sooo much to do as a family, we only covered parts of it, there is more. Our children were just in awe of the places we went to. My son cannot believe we ate lunch at the Lobby Restaurant where the politicians go to talk about politics .. My daughter still talks about the Botanic Gardens and she is only 6..
The photos placed on our blog are only a few of what we took, the children could not stop videoing, which is great!!
The must sees as a family and that we would recommend is EVERYTHING, but if you asked us to pin point a few we would recommend the following:
1. Australian Institute of Sport - fantastic tours, and you never know who you might bump into
2. Australian Botanic Gardens - it is the way it is set out, you are looking everywhere and at plants, flowers, natives that you have never seen before. The tours are a must here so insigtful
3. Definitely Cockington Green - if you can get a tour at dusk you are in for a treat, truly magical. I spoke to the owners son and he said they do the tours for special groups, but you can always ask and say that one of the Human Brochure Family streams highly recommended it to you.
Canberra has sooo much to offer, we did not get on the Food and Wine, Adventure, Arts and Culture so there is so much do. We heard that all the other streams had as much fun as what we had.
Canberra's food is amazing, wine spectacular.
